About Berkeley Academy of Canada

Founded on September 1st, 2012, in the heart of Toronto, Berkeley Academy of Canada was established to reimagine private high school education for the modern era. Situated in one of North America’s most vibrant educational hubs, the Academy sought to challenge traditional secondary schooling by bridging classical academic rigor with forward-thinking learning formats.

Innovation In & Out of the Classroom

At a time when education was strictly compartmentalized, Berkeley Academy set out to do things differently. We pioneered a hybrid educational ecosystem designed to give students total flexibility without sacrificing community or academic excellence:

• In-Class Experience: Our physical campus in Toronto offered collaborative, technology-infused learning spaces. Small seminar-style classes fostered direct mentorship with faculty, encouraging critical thinking, open debate, and hands-on problem-solving.

• Online Learning: Ahead of the curve in blended education, our online portal provided high-schoolers with asynchronous access to coursework, interactive digital modules, and virtual study groups. This allowed students to tailor their schedules, pursue elite extracurricular tracks, or balance complex commitments while completing their diploma.

Our Legacy

By integrating a Canadian curriculum with global perspectives and flexible learning models, the Academy aimed to redefine how high school students engaged with their education.

Berkeley Academy of Canada officially concluded its operations on September 1st, 2018. Though its doors closed after six impactful years, the school’s commitment to flexible learning, academic integrity, and student-centered growth remains a proud part of our history and a footprint in Toronto’s educational landscape.
